Bottega Verde Brings Italian Countryside Care to the Sandpit

Bottega Verde, the home to tradition, which nestles amongst hills, vineyards and  fields was opened in 1972 as a small herbalist shop with a passion for artisan production and sale of cosmetics based on natural ingredients. With the belief in authentic and natural beauty where the focus is on the teachings from nature, Bottega Verde products are meant to be highly effective as well as sensorial and developed to meet every beauty need.

With the reopening of the other side of Burjuman Centre in the middle of this year comes the wonderful boutiques and shops, making renowned and new brands alike accessible to us. I have been to the mall a few times and I find the Bottega Verde’s shop a little quaint, cheery and bright. Since I knew I’d be getting their products from Glambox, I have not purchased anything until after I received a voucher for a free skin test and free Welcome Box!

So let’s visit the Italian countryside.

First up is the Pepe Rosa Creme Mani or hand cream with pink Peppercorn and Vanilla Extracts. It is supposed to be ideal even for very dry, dehydrated skin because its special formula with Pink Peppercorn and Vanilla extracts protects and preserves moisture levels.

The fragrance opens with exhilarating hints of Pink Peppercorn and Calabrian Bergamot. The middle notes are filled with enchanting Orange Blossom aromas offering all of the passion of Sicily and it is all warmed by creamy fusions of Vanilla.

It has the usual drug store body lotion consistency, but it feels very moisturizing, gets absorbs fast (unlike Crabtree and Evelyn’s) and leaves a floral scent with a hint of something very citrusy or peppery.

Uva Rossa di Palazzo Massaini – Body Cream / Face Cream / Serum in Red Grape Extract

Body Cream

The body cream has a thin consistency however you feel it is packed with moisturizing oil upon application. The skin easily soaks in the moisture and the lotion’s scent is mild, comforting, but still fruity.

Face Cream

Unlike the body cream, the face cream is thick and very white. No worries, though, because it gets absorbed by the face in an instant. Scent is mild and lovely, even lovelier than the body cream.

I got a sample sachet of the slightly colored serum. The consistency is watery and gentle on the face.

I got a voucher to claim 1 Welcome Box from their store so this simple surprise box I happily brought home!

So basically I got a bigger Uva Rossa (Red Grapes) Body Cream, wonderfully oriental floral Argan Oil and Jasmine Hand Cream and Ialuronplus Face Cream with plumping Hyaluronic Acid. Not bad for a Welcome Box! Plus side, I learned I got Normal-Combination Skin. So I guess a month of proper skincare did help my skin.

And that day, select soaps are on sale at AED9 and nailpolishes for AED15. Violet and Iris-scented soaps smelled great, I couldn’t resist so I bought the Violet soap.

This is the Uva Rossa lineup. I got a sample and s small tube for the Body cream.

The red grape grown in the splendid tuscan country side is used as the main ingredient in the red grape kit. The antioxidants in the red grape contains anti-ageing properties and relieves stress.

Well, what can I say about Bottega Verde? Aside from the quaint packaging design and easy skin absorption, the products are just alright, but the scents of those items I used are a bit different from what I am used to. Prices are a bit more affordable than let’s say, The Body Shop. Also, this is an Italian brand so the quality is unquestionable.

Why don’t you try them! In Burjuman, they are located at the first floor, opposite Nine West Accessories and Rituals.
