It’s been a while! I’ve already uncovered The Secret of the Law of Attraction with the books and video by New Age Thinker Rhonda Byrne. Then I received The Power of love. Even following (The Secret:) The Daily Teachings.
But I guess my favorite is practicing The Magic. The book has 28 activities to do: one activity a day to focus on. Some activities will be done everyday, and after doing the activities, you may use them anytime you need to. Here are some of the activities you may try to feel the magic of gratitude in your life!
The magic is gratitude. The magic words are “Thank you.”
Count your Blessings
List ten (10) blessings for the day. Include the reason why you are thankful about these things. Say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you” after each item. Do this every day.
Choose a small smooth rock or stone which you can completely hold in one palm. Before going to bed, hold it while you think and thank for the best thing that happened today. Place in an area where you can see it often, or put it in your pocket. Do this every night.
Think of three persons you want to thank. Have a photograph of each person, and write at the back of the picture five (5) things you are grateful about each person. Write, “Thank you, <name> for <reason>.” You may also write in a piece of paper if no picture is available. Place in an area where you can see it always, or put it in your pocket. Look at them as frequently as you can today and thank these people in your mind.
Be in a relaxing position and think about how various parts of your body perform its role to keep you alive. Be thankful for each part. Then on a piece of paper or card, write “THE GIFT OF HEALTH IS KEEPING ME ALIVE.” Place in an area where you can see it always, or put it in your pocket. Look at them as frequently as you can today. Be thankful of your body and health.
Magic Dollar Bill
Think about your childhood and be thankful about all the things and experiences you got without spending anything. Take out a small bill, and stick to it a note with the words “THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MONEY I’VE BEEN GIVEN THROUGHOUT MY LIFE.” Look at it as frequently as you can today. Be grateful of the money you have.
Imagine that there is an invisible manager following you around in the workplace. His job is to note all the good things you think and say about your work. Make sure you have a list of everything you are thankful for about your work. Let us start with, “I am thankful that I have a job.”
The Magical Way Out of Negativity
Think of a negative situation such as a negative relationship that has been bothering you. When you have chosen your one negative situation, you are then to write down ten (10) things you are grateful for about the negative situation. Learn to find the positive in every situation.
The Magic Ingredient
Before you eat or drink anything today, look at what you’re about to eat or drink, and in your mind or aloud, say the magic words “Thank you!” If you want, mimic sprinkling your food or drink with magic dust.
Take any current unpaid bills, be grateful that you are receiving such services and products, and write across each bill: Thank you for the money.
Take ten (10) paid bills and write across the front of each: Thank you – Paid. Feel truly grateful that you have the money to pay your bills.
Magic Dust Everyone
Think or list ten (10) people who have given you great service or went out of their way to help you. Thank them personally, or mentally. Wave your fingers as if sprinkling the magic dust of gratitude towards them, on your list, or on your mind. Imagine that the magic dust of gratitude reaches out to these people.
A Magic Morning
Say thank you first thing in the morning, as soon as you are awake. Say thank you for everything you do and touch while getting ready. Say thank you for everything throughout your day.
Magical People Who Made A Difference
Find a quiet place alone sometime today and make a list of three (3) people who made a difference in your life. Walk through the list one person at a time, and tell each person out loud the reason why you are grateful for them, and exactly how they affected the course of your life. If you are not in a position to talk out loud, you can write to each person as if writing a letter.
Make All Your Wishes Come True
List your top ten desires. Write thank you three times before each desire, as though you already received it. Example: Thank you, thank you, thank you for _______.
Using your imagination, answer the following question in your mind, as though you have received each of your desires:
- What emotions did you feel when you received your desire?
- Who was the first person you told when you received our desire, and how did you tell them?
- What is the first great thing you did when you received your desire?
Re-read the list and really emphasize the magic words, thank you.
If you like, create a Magic Board. Cut out pictures and attach them to your Magic Board, and put it in a place you see often. Title the board with THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU in big bold letters across the top.
Have a Magical Day
In the morning, think about your plans for the day and with each plan or event, say thank you, for it having gone well. Imagine that you’re grateful at the end of the day because it went perfectly. End this practice by saying: And thank you for the great news coming to me today!
Magically Heal Your Relationships
Choose one (1) difficult, problematic or broken relationship that you want to improve. Make a written list of ten (10) things you’re grateful for about the person you’ve chosen. Write it down:
Name, I’m grateful for what?
Magic and Miracles in Health
Recall three instances in your life when you felt on top of the world and be thankful.
Think about five functions / parts of your body that are well, and be thankful.
Choose one thing about your body or health you want to improve and spend a minute visualizing yourself with the ideal state of your body or health. Be thankful of this ideal state.
The Magical To-Do List
Create a written list of the most important things or problems you need done or solved. Title your list “The Magical To-Do List”. Choose three of the most important things from your list, and one at a time, imagine that each thing has been done for you. Spend at least one minute on each thing, believing it is done and feeling enormous gratitude in return.
Magically Transform Mistakes into Blessings
Choose one mistake that you have made in your life. Then find ten (10) blessings that you are grateful for because of making this mistake. This is how we learn to learn from our mistakes.
Choose three persons who you care about and who you would like to help with more health, wealth, happiness, or all three. Collect a photograph of each person. Take one person at a time, and hold their photograph in your hand. Close your eyes and for one minute visualize the person’s health, wealth, or happiness has been fully restored, and you are receiving the news. Open your eyes and say the magic words slowly:
“Thank you, thank you, thank you for _____’s health, wealth, or happiness.”
Say thank you every time you look in the mirror and mean it.
